Bruxism (Jaw clenching) / Facial Slimming
Bruxism is a condition characterised by teeth grinding and excessive clenching of the jaw. Side effects can include blunting of teeth, increased size of the masseter muscles that often results in a square appearance of the face as a result of a widened jawline.
The increased size of the masseter muscle can be treated by injecting with a wrinkle relaxer into the main muscle which will, overtime, reduce the squareness of the jaw and bruxism as the masseter muscle ‘relaxes’. For many patients, they notice that teeth grinding stops within a few weeks and the face slims in around 8 weeks.
