Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation is one of the most popular treatments amongst women today.  It involves placing small amounts of dermal filler into the lip, to add volume and shape and often to help improve symmetry.  At New You Aesthetics, it is important to us that we achieve harmony in your facial features.  When you visit us to discuss your lip enhancement, we provide a thorough consultation and work with you to achieve your desired result, looking at your individual aesthetics, talking about your desired outcome, expectations and realistic achievements.

As we age, we lose volume in our face including our lips. Fine lines and wrinkles start to appear around the lips and they usually become thin. Lip augmentation may help reverse these signs of aging and plump up the lips for a more youthful appearance. There are many different products available on the market, and, depending on what you have discussed in your consultation, the perfect filler will be chosen for you.

Indications for lip augmentation

  • Increase fullness
  • Reduce the appearance of fine lines surrounding the lips.
  • Reshape or improve symmetry
  • Definition of the lip border and cupids bow
  • Hydration

Lip augmentation usually takes about 15-20 minutes after you have had some topical numbing cream applied and left on for 10-20 minutes.

Results are instant but temporary, usually lasting between 6-12 months.  Individual results will vary.

There is no downtime, however swelling may persist usually no longer than 24-48 hours and bruising may last up to a week.  Makeup can be applied the next day to hide any bruising.

We will book you in for a follow up appointment in 3-4 weeks to determine if you are happy with your result, or more filler is required. * Note: it may take several treatments using more than 1 syringe to achieve your desired result.

There are some contraindications to treatment and some rare complications and risks which will be discussed thoroughly at time of consultation.
